An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and passionate Deputy SENDCo to join a successful and inclusive secondary school in North West London from September 2026.
The school is seeking a dedicated professional who is passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and ensuring every learner has access to high-quality provision, support and opportunities to succeed.
Working closely with the SENDCo and wider pastoral and leadership teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the strategic development of SEND provision across the school while helping to create an inclusive, nurturing and aspirational learning environment for all students.
This role would suit an experienced Learning Support professional, Behaviour Support Officer, HLTA or aspiring SENDCo looking to further develop their career within a supportive and ambitious school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the SENDCo in the day-to-day management of SEND provision
- Assist in identifying and assessing students with additional needs
- Help coordinate interventions, support plans and EHCP provision
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure high-quality inclusive practice
- Monitor student progress, wellbeing and engagement
- Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies
- Support annual reviews, record keeping and SEND administration
- Contribute to behaviour support and pastoral interventions where required
- Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and student wellbeing across the school
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND
- Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills
- Be knowledgeable about SEND, inclusion and safeguarding practices
- Have the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families
- Be calm, proactive and solution-focused
- Be passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable learners
- Have experience working within a secondary school or educational setting (desirable)
