Hunnaball Family Funeral Group are seeking a dedicated Funeral Service Operative to join our compassionate team. This vital role involves supporting funeral arrangements with professionalism, dignity, and respect. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and transportation of deceased individuals, ensuring that all procedures are carried out with sensitivity and adherence to health and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, handling, and transportation of deceased persons in accordance with company protocols and legal requirements.
- Support the setup and breakdown of funeral services, including arranging floral displays and organising logistical details.
- Operate appropriate equipment safely to move coffins or caskets, including lifting heavy items where necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the mortuary and funeral service areas.
- Provide compassionate support to bereaved families when required, demonstrating professionalism at all times.
- Ensure all documentation related to funeral arrangements is completed accurately and promptly.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to minimise risks associated with heavy lifting.
- Inclusion in the out of hours on call rota
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role or in a setting requiring physical endurance is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Compassionate demeanour with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a sensitive environment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as required, including early mornings or late afternoons.
- A respectful attitude towards deceased individuals and their families.
- Full compliance with health and safety regulations relevant to handling heavy items and working in mortuary environments.
Pay: £28,332.00 per year
