About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of highways schemes in East Sussex.
This flagship scheme includes the installation of five new junctions along the A22, enhancing connectivity and supporting regional growth. Following completion, you will transition onto further major projects across the portfolio.
This is a key leadership role where you will take full responsibility for end-to-end project delivery, ensuring successful outcomes against programme, budget and client expectations.
What you'll be doing
As Senior Project Manager, you will:
- Lead the planning, execution and delivery of major highways projects
- Ensure delivery to programme and budget, meeting key performance targets
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Develop and implement project strategies aligned to customer requirements
- Monitor and control financial performance, ensuring targets for profit and margin are achieved
- Drive a “right first time” approach across the project lifecycle
- Lead, motivate and develop multi-disciplinary teams
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards
Who we're looking for
We’re looking for a confident and commercially aware leader who can represent Balfour Beatty with professionalism and credibility.
You’ll have:
- Proven experience delivering major highways or infrastructure projects
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and clients
- A track record of effective stakeholder engagement and relationship management
- Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing suppliers and contracts
- Experience leading tender processes and complex negotiations
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
