Are you passionate about helping children, young people, and families achieve positive change? We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Family Support Worker to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with families, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is committed to safeguarding and improving outcomes for children.
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
Location: The role involves travel between four Family Hubs and undertaking community-based home visits across the Ladywood District.
Key Responsibilities
You will play a vital role in supporting families by:
- Providing 1:1 and group-based support to children, young people, and families using a range of evidence-based interventions.
- Identifying needs and working collaboratively with families to achieve meaningful, positive outcomes.
- Empowering parents and carers to build confidence and skills that improve outcomes for their children.
- Working in partnership with children's services, health professionals, and community organisations to ensure coordinated, joinedup support.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the service.
- Applying safeguarding and child protection policies confidently and consistently.
- Taking responsibility for the safe and appropriate use of equipment and resources.
- Maintaining accurate, timely case notes and contributing to case recordings and reports.
- Supporting and advising colleagues where appropriate, despite having no formal supervisory responsibility.
- Promoting a safe, healthy, and secure working environment at all times.
About you

- A Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or an equivalent qualification)
- Experience working with children, young people, or families, either in a paid or voluntary capacity.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and the confidence to follow procedures appropriately.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain clear and accurate written records.
- A genuine commitment to making a positive difference within the community.
