Depot Manager

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Depot Manager to lead a busy warehouse and logistics operation based in Thatcham.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, leading teams from the front, and driving operational performance within a fast-paced environment.
The Role
As Depot Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the depot, ensuring operations are efficient, safe, and commercially effective. You’ll play a key role in managing people, processes, and performance while continuously looking for ways to improve service and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the daily operations of the depot
- Leading, motivating, and developing warehouse staff
- Overseeing goods in, dispatch, stock control, and logistics activity
- Coordinating with transport providers and 3PL partners
- Working with systems including WMS, ERP, TMS, and AS400
- Monitoring operational performance, budgets, and P&L
- Driving continuous improvement across efficiency and service levels
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety compliance
- Ensuring productivity and customer expectations are consistently achieved
About You
We’re looking for a hands-on manager with strong logistics and warehouse experience who can confidently lead a busy operation.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Depot Manager, Warehouse Manager, or Logistics Manager
- Strong understanding of warehouse and supply chain operations
- Experience using WMS, ERP, TMS, or similar systems
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Good financial and commercial awareness
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- A proactive and adaptable approach in a fast-paced environment
