Palace House Nursing Home is seeking a Self-Employed Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated night care team within a high-quality nursing home environment. Please note that this role is self-employed only and no visa sponsorship is available.

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Care Assistant:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care that supports residents’ physical, emotional, and social wellbeing
- Lead, guide, and support Care Assistants during shifts to ensure consistent and excellent standards of care
- Administer medication safely and accurately in line with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to senior staff
- Promote dignity, privacy, independence, choice, rights, and fulfilment in all aspects of care delivery
- Support the development, review, and accurate completion of care plans and documentation
- Provide assistance with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and daily living activities where required
- Ensure clear and accurate handovers between shifts to maintain continuity of care
- Build strong, respectful relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
- Maintain compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies at all times
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience within an elderly care home setting is essential or highly desirable
- Experience in a Senior Care Assistant or similar supervisory care role is preferred
- Good understanding of care planning and record-keeping processes
- Medication administration experience is an advantage
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate others
- Excellent organisational, communication, and time management abilities
- A compassionate, professional, and flexible approach to work
- Ability to work effectively as part of a committed care team
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable, with full training opportunities available
Salary: £12.71 per hour
