We are currently recruiting for a Maths Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Salisbury from September. This is a school we have worked closely with for a number of years and one that has an excellent track record of supporting graduates and aspiring teachers.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a graduate with a Maths degree or strong mathematical background who is looking to gain valuable classroom experience, with the potential opportunity to progress into teacher training should the role be successful.
You will work closely with the Maths department to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping to improve confidence, engagement, and attainment in Mathematics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-class support during Maths lessons
- Work with small groups and individual students to reinforce learning
- Support students in understanding key mathematical concepts
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities
- Help deliver targeted interventions and revision sessions
- Encourage student confidence and engagement within Maths
Ideal Candidate:
- Maths degree or strong academic background in Mathematics
- Passion for education and supporting young people
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Positive, proactive, and adaptable attitude
- Experience working with young people desirable but not essential
- Interest in progressing into teaching or teacher training
