Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team as a bank staff. We are a 7-bed residential home. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Support with activities in the community
- Support with cooking meals
- Support with medical appointments as required
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects.
- Support clients with mobility and engage in heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment, promoting independence and dignity for all clients.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance care skills as required.
Skills
- Experience in care and mental health
- Understanding of supported living practices
- Proficiency in first aid and basic life support techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is beneficial.
Desirable
- Fluency in spoken Somali or Bengali
