Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Telehandler to join our team in <LOCATION>. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating telehandlers to move, lift, and position materials efficiently and safely across various construction and industrial sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in commercial driving and mechanical knowledge to contribute to our projects while developing their skills further. The position is paid and requires a proactive approach to safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Operate telehandlers safely and efficiently to transport materials around construction sites or industrial facilities
- Assist with loading and unloading goods from lorries or storage areas using the telehandler
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any faults or issues promptly
- Collaborate with site managers and other team members to coordinate material movement according to project schedules
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Support the operation of excavators or other machinery as required, demonstrating mechanical aptitude when necessary
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to minimise risk on-site
Experience
- Proven experience in operating telehandlers in a commercial setting
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to lifting equipment and excavators
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving duties, with experience in operating heavy machinery preferred
- Familiarity with health and safety standards relevant to construction or industrial environments
- Prior experience working with excavators is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided if necessary
