Overview
We are looking for motivated and reliable engineers with previous experience working as an MDF Engineer within telecoms exchange environments. Candidates should be confident working within fast-paced exchange settings, have a strong understanding of MDF operations, and take pride in delivering accurate and efficient work.
This role offers ongoing nationwide projects, strong earning potential through price work, and the opportunity to be part of large-scale telecom network transformation and recovery programmes across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out MDF jumpering and tie pair connections
- Working on exchange frames to install, move, and recover circuits
- Performing voice compaction and legacy circuit recovery works
- Identifying, tracing, and testing copper pairs
- Completing jumper recovery and network rearrangement tasks
- Supporting exchange recovery and infrastructure rationalisation projects
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately, safely, and to required standards
- Working efficiently within live telecom exchange environments
- Maintaining clear and accurate job completion records
Requirements
- Proven experience in MDF operations and exchange frame work
- Proven experience in voice compaction and circuit recovery activities
- Able to work on a price work basis
- Strong understanding of copper network infrastructure and telecom exchange procedures
- Ability to work in a 2 man team.
- Previous experience within Openreach or similar telecom environments preferred
- Willingness to travel nationwide
- MUST HAVE Full UK driving licence
