Overview
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Store Assistant to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent service to customers, maintaining store organisation, and supporting sales initiatives. Fluency in multiple languages such as English and Spanish is highly desirable to assist our diverse customer base. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their enquiries in a professional manner
- Maintain the organisation and visual merchandising of the store to ensure an attractive shopping environment
- Operate the till system accurately, including processing transactions and handling cash or card payments
- Upsell products and promote ongoing promotions to maximise sales opportunities
- Restock shelves and ensure stock levels are maintained throughout the day
- Provide information about products, including features and benefits, to support customer decision-making
- Assist with stock management, including receiving deliveries and organising stockroom areas
- Support team members with daily tasks to ensure smooth store operations
Skills
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is advantageous for serving diverse customers
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members
- Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Time management abilities to prioritise tasks during busy periods
- Excellent phone etiquette when dealing with customer or supplier enquiries
- Experience in merchandising and upselling techniques to enhance sales performance
- Organisational skills to maintain a tidy, welcoming store environment
