This role will suit someone who has good customer service skills with the ability to work on their own initiative with some experience working within maintenance in a field based role.
We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineers to cover the Derby area.
Monday mornings you will report to depot in order to receive briefings and stock the van for the weeks work ahead. You may be called into depot at anytime.
In this role you will be responsible for lifting sometimes heavy equipment in and out of service user’s premises, loading and unloading your vehicle at the beginning and end of the day.
The role involves checking equipment to ensure it is safe for people to use and any issues are reported/resolved. Where possible you will be required to complete minor repairs to items such as pressure care mattresses and other aids that are provided to support independent living. Where items are not repairable you will request replacement items for the customer.
You will be speaking to customers so good communication skills and presentation is essential. You will be required to use hand held computers so a good level of reading and writing is also essential.
Transport to attend visits will be provided unless you are a van owner (in which case an additional payment will be made) so you must hold a full UK driving licence (clean). Working days are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4pm. positions are on a temp to perm basis and pay is paid Monthly on the last working day of the month.

Experience within a similar role would be an advantage. Some knowledge of being able to complete general DIY tasks would be an advantage due to the nature of the work but not essential.
A Good level of English both written and spoken is essential for health and safety reasons.
Loler servicing and repair training will be provided as well as PAT tester training this will take place prior to starting the role and is unpaid online. Experience in this kind of work would be a distinct advantage.
You will receive 1 to 2 weeks training in house prior to working solo.
