Teaching Assistant (1:1 SEND Support)

The Role
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a primary classroom setting.
The child has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), alongside associated social, emotional and communication needs. We are looking for someone who can build a positive and trusting relationship, helping the child to access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience of working with children with SEND, particularly ASD and ADHD (desirable but not essential).
- Be patient, nurturing and resilient.
- Be creative in their approach to supporting learning and engagement.
- Enjoy being active and willing to support movement breaks, outdoor learning and practical activities throughout the day.
- Be able to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Be committed to promoting inclusion and positive outcomes for all children.
- Be able to work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, parents and external professionals where appropriate.
