Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pizza & Pasta Chef to join our vibrant, newly refitted independent restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a focus on creating high-quality pizzas, pastas and Italian food in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic pizzas & pastas according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including dough, sauces, and toppings
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed during food preparation and service
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and work surfaces
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies need replenishing
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of orders during busy periods
- Serve food efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a chef within an Italian restaurant or similar setting
- Knowledge of culinary techniques specific to pizza making and Italian food
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required
