We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Officer to join our educational team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students' emotional and social well-being, fostering a positive school environment, and providing mentorship and guidance. Responsibilities
- Provide pastoral care and emotional support to students, promoting their well-being and resilience.
- Develop and implement programmes aimed at enhancing student behaviour, confidence, and social skills.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to identify students requiring additional support, including those with special educational needs.
- Mentor students through individual or group sessions, encouraging positive behaviour and personal development.
- Support students in navigating challenges related to mental health, behavioural issues, or family circumstances.
- Foster an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and promotes respect among pupils.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to coordinate support plans for students as needed.
- Assist in organising extracurricular activities that promote student engagement and community involvement.
Skills
- Proven experience in teaching or working with children and young people.
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Knowledge of youth work practices and strategies for supporting vulnerable learners.
- Experience or understanding of special education needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Organised, empathetic, patient, and able to handle sensitive situations discreetly.

Pay: £100.00-£120.00 per day
