Welder/Fabricator – Steel Boat Building
Crafted Boats is a well-established, specialist steel boat building and repair company. We take pride in manufacturing, repairing, and painting a wide range of bespoke steel canal boats to the highest standards.
The Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our busy and growing boatbuilding team. This is a hands-on role within a workshop environment and will require safe access to boats via steps, ladders, and platforms.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in the marine industry, with training provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities & Skills
- MIG welding and fabrication
- Cutting and scribeing
- Manufacturing bespoke metal products
- Working with mild steel (3–10mm thickness)
- Meeting daily production targets
- Working within a sheet metal environment
- Following engineering procedures and processes
About You
- Positive attitude with strong attention to detail and quality
- Reliable and punctual
- Practical and hands-on approach
- Basic welding knowledge required
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
You will be involved in all aspects of boat building operations, including welding, fabrication, cutting, measuring, and finishing work to a high and accurate standard.
Working Hours
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30
- Friday: 08:00 – 13:30
