“Empathy before Expectation, Curiosity before Consequence, and Connection before Correction”
Within this service, we use a therapeutic, trauma-informed method for caregivers to build secure attachments with children, especially those with developmental trauma. It focuses on underlying emotions rather than just behaviour, helping children regulate and heal by feeling truly seen and safe in relationships.
Do you have a strong commitment to developing safe, empathetic relationships with children and young people?
We are seeking a Children’s Therapeutic Support Worker to join a dedicated team that provides children with compassionate and therapeutic care within a warm and homely residential setting. This welcoming environment provides tailored support for up to 4 children between the ages of 8 to 18, and is located in a beautiful rural setting with access to the great outdoors, perfect for encouraging healthy and holistic activities to encourage confidence building and the development of life skills.
The children within this home have histories of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) such as neglect, abuse, and complex trauma, and require sympathetic and patient approaches in order to rebuild trust and learn to cope with their experiences. By utilising various therapeutic methods of care, such as PACE, trauma-informed practices, and Creative Therapies, you will foster an environment filled with empathy, curiosity, acceptance, and playfulness as you support the children in building the foundations of a happier and healthier future.
As a Children’s Therapeutic Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the children in their day-to-day routines, and encourage the development of their social, emotional, and behavioural skills. You will also help them in maintaining structured routines, encourage and support their education all whilst adhering to safeguarding procedures and following each child's care plan. With continuous guidance and training from senior staff, you’ll receive support to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children in your care.
