Job Overview
We are seeking someone with previous experience working in a traditional country pub or restaurant ideally with all round experience of Front of House and Bar experience to join our team. Must be reliable, honest and a good team member.
In this role, you will welcome and serve our customers, ensuring they receive a polite and friendly welcome from the moment they arrive. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide variety of tasks aimed at creating a warm and friendly atmosphere and enhancing their dining and/or drinking experience.
Duties
- Opening and/or closing the bar;
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and hospitable environment.
- Assist guests with seating arrangements and provide menus.
- Take food and drink orders quickly accurately and efficiently, while upselling menu items when appropriate.
- Maintain knowledge of the menu, including daily specials and food safety standards, allergies etc.
- Ensure that tables are set up correctly and that the dining area is spotlessly clean and organised throughout service.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism, striving to resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
- Take payments accurately.
- Serve bar only customers too;
Skills
- Must have previous relevant experience
- Ideally hold level 2 food hygiene certificate or willing to be trained
- Strong customer service skills with a passion for hospitality.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and processing payments; experience of EPOS systems.
- Excellent time management abilities to handle busy service periods effectively.
- Familiarity with food and drink safety practices to ensure compliance with health and licensing regulations.
- Restaurant experience is essential.
- Passion to upsell bar and menu items through effective communication.
- Willingness to help colleagues and work as part of a team and jump in where needed.
- Must be reliable.

Pay: £12.71-£12.95 per hour
