Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist in the development of new menu items and seasonal specials.
- Oversee specific sections of the kitchen, such as fish, meat, or vegetarian stations, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your designated work area in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies to ensure availability of ingredients.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent service during busy periods.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety standards, including proper storage and handling procedures.
- Support junior kitchen staff through training and guidance where necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within a reputable restaurant or hotel environment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills.
- Solid understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
- Experience with meal preparation across various cuisines is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential for highly experienced candidates.
- A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
