About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Fire Alarm Service & Maintenance Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The role will involve servicing, maintaining, fault finding and supporting fire alarm and life safety systems across the UK and Europe.
You will work on a variety of industry-leading fire detection systems and support critical environments including data centres, government buildings, and commercial sites. The role will require occasional travel and periods of working away from home, including trips abroad for up to two weeks at a time.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer who wants to develop their skills within a supportive and growing organisation. Full training, tools, and equipment will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and fault-find on addressable fire alarm systems.
- Understand and be able to work in conjunction with BS5839.
- Work with leading fire alarm control panels including Honeywell Notifier, Gent, Kentec, Fireclass and Advanced.
- Support system commissioning and upgrades where required.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose system faults and conduct repairs efficiently.
- Complete detailed service reports and documentation using Microsoft systems.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant standards and regulations.
- Work across critical environments including data centres and government facilities.
- Travel across the UK and Europe when required.
- Maintain excellent customer relationships on client sites.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with VESDA aspirating detection systems.
- Experience with gas suppression systems.
- Previous experience working in data centre environments.
- Experience working on government or high-security sites.
- FIA or manufacturer certifications
(Desirable but not essential – training can be provided.)
Candidate Requirements
- Solid engineering background with experience in fire alarm systems.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
- IT competent with the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
- CSCS or ECS card holder preferred.
- Flexible with working hours and able to work away from home within the UK and Europe when required.
- Willingness to learn and develop within a growing organisation.
- Full clean UK driving licence (essential).
- Positive, friendly, and confident communicator.
