We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses/Newly qualified Registered Nurses who would like to work in an expanded and exciting clinical area.
Huggett Suite consists of 31 beds, 6 Acute Stroke Beds & 25 Rehab beds. This will provide the successful candidates with the opportunity to work alongside dynamic, experienced medical, nursing and multi-disciplinary team members to provide Gold Standard care in stroke.
Newly qualified staff are welcome to apply as support will be available and in-house training provided. This would present an excellent opportunity for the right person(s) to further develop skills in thrombolysis, acute stroke care and stroke rehab.
Huggett Suite has a great working environment and is made up of not only the nursing team but the Consultants, Stoke Nurses, Ward Clerk and Discharge Co-ordinator. We all have the same aim and goals that drive the team to give a great standard of care.

Successful candidates will be enthusiastic, motivated and willing to undertake training in stroke care in order to provide Gold Standard care. Duties will include looking after patients in the acute stage of their stroke who need a level of care. This will include observation of monitoring system, recognising the changes in the stroke patient and acting on this information.
Successful candidates will report to the Ward Manager and Clinical Leads. They will be expected to partake in training surrounding stroke. They would need to show professionalism and work within the NMC Code of Conduct.
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.
