HR Assistant
We are seeking a HR Assistant to join our small HR team and support the day-to-day running of the Department.
We are seeking candidates who have office-based/administrative experience or who have a keen interest in starting a career in HR. This opportunity will provide you with exposure to a site-based niche industry where no two days are the same. You will be in daily contact with employees from all over the business, so confidentiality and people skills are essential.
This role is part-time (4 days per week) with scope to grow into 5 days per week as the business continues to evolve. It is fully office-based in Aintree, Liverpool.
The starting salary is £26,000 FTE and will be pro-rated in line with a 4 day week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise new starter inductions
- Ensure all relevant documentation including proof of Right to Work has been received for new hires
- Liaise with relevant departments to order PPE/equipment for new hires
- Send new appointment e-mails to inform colleagues of employees joining the business
- Request references for new starters and fulfilling inbound references for leavers
- Assist with recruitment by liaising with candidates/Agencies to organise interviews
- Draft e-mails to provide interview feedback to candidates
- Assist the HR Manager with reviewing job descriptions/job adverts
- Ensure exit questionnaires/interviews are organised/completed for leavers
- Drafting written correspondence related to general HR matters e.g. letters/e-mails
- Fielding phone calls that come through to the HR Department
- Maintain accurate staff lists and records for HR compliance
- Scanning/filing physical paperwork on to the digital server
- Ensure all Return to Work Interviews have been completed by line managers
- Ensure all Return to Work documentation matches the sickness data for the relevant payroll month to verify all sickness is accounted for
- Send reminders to line managers when probationary reviews are due
- Keep a log of completed/outstanding Appraisal forms when due
- Assist with promoting HR initiatives/engaging in HRprojects
Qualifications and Experience:
- GCSE grade A – C English and Maths
- Working towards or have achieved a professional qualification in a related subject e.g. CIPD Level 3, HR or Business Studies
- A keen interest in HR
- Familiarity with HR procedures and frameworks
- Basic understanding of Employment Law
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for spelling
- A positive can-do attitude with a strong work ethic
- Ability to communicate professionally at all levels within the Company
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Competence with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
