Social Housing – Reactive Repairs & Voids Maintenance | Temp-to-Perm
Are you a hands-on Voids Supervisor with a strong background in social housing maintenance? We are urgently seeking an experienced Supervisor to oversee the rapid turnaround of empty (void) properties across North London, working out of a central base in Finsbury Park.
This is a fast-paced role with a leading maintenance contractor, offering immediate work and a clear pathway to a permanent contract for the right candidate.
The Offer:

- Base Location: Finsbury Park (Covering property patches across North London)
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 am – 17:00 pm
- Requirements: Must hold a full UK Driving Licence and have previous experience in a similar role
The Role:
As the Voids Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end refurbishment of empty social housing properties, ensuring they are brought up to the lettable standard quickly, safely, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Void Surveys: Attend empty properties to scope out required works, create accurate materials lists, and estimate completion timescales
- Team Supervision: Manage and motivate a localised team of multi-trade operatives (carpenters, plumbers, plasterers, decorators) and specialist subcontractors
- Progress Tracking: Drive the daily momentum of works to minimise "void period" backlogs, ensuring properties hit strict Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for handover
- Quality Control & H&S: Conduct ongoing post-inspection checks to ensure all trades are working safely and that workmanship meets high standards before the property is handed back to the landlord
- Liaison: Work closely with the scheduling team, materials suppliers, and client housing officers to provide transparent progress updates
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous Experience: Essential. You must have a proven track record supervising Voids or Reactive Repairs contracts within a social housing, local authority, or housing association environment
- Technical Background: A trade background (e.g., Carpentry, Plumbing, or Bricklaying) is highly advantageous, alongside strong technical knowledge of building maintenance
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage trade operatives, resolve site issues, and enforce health and safety compliance
- IT Literacy: Comfortable using smartphone apps/PDAs for logging jobs and updating internal excel trackers or maintenance software
- Mobility: A full UK Driving Licence is essential for travelling between void properties across North London
