We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Pump Service Engineer (Field Based) to join a leading specialist in pumping equipment solutions, a business with over sixty years of expertise in the industry. This role is based around the Southwest region!
You’ll work primarily on construction sites supporting wastewater operations—carrying out servicing, breakdown response, commissioning, and installation of pumping systems—while working closely alongside a skilled Mechanical Engineer.
Your patch will mainly cover the Southwest, including Taunton, Exeter, Bristol etc with only occasional overnight stays required.
We’re looking for an electrically biased engineer with a Level 3 Electrical qualification plus 18th Edition, ideally with experience in pumping equipment, valves, pipework, drainage, utilities, or similar environments across wastewater or clean water sites.
This is a Full-Time, Permanent position!
What you’ll be doing
- Electrical servicing, installation and commissioning of a wide range of pumping systems including pumps, pumping stations, kiosks, control panels and monitoring systems
- Carry out maintenance, inspections and performance monitoring of equipment
- Diagnose faults, troubleshooting and undertake high-quality repairs
- Respond to service calls and emergency breakdowns
- Complete accurate site reports and maintain clear records
- Deliver exceptional customer service and represent the business professionally
- Drive the company van and ensure it is well stocked and maintained
- Manage petty cash and process payments efficiently
Hours
Monday-Friday, Day Shifts, 40 hours per week (flexibility required)
Pay
- Basic salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- With overtime, most engineers earn up to £60,000 per annum
- Overtime paid at enhanced rates
- Annual performance bonuses approx. £1,300 per year
Skills/Experience Required
Essential
- Previous hands-on experience with pumping equipment such as pumps, control systems, monitoring systems or similar
- Experience on wastewater sites
- An 18th Edition qualification
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to stay away from home occasionally
