Steel Manufacturing Operatives Required – Stockton‑on‑Tees
Central Employment are recruiting on behalf of a leading steel fabrication and heavy manufacturing business based in Stockton‑on‑Tees. Due to sustained growth and increased production demand, our client is expanding their workforce and recruiting multiple operatives across key areas of their steel manufacturing operation.

Roles Available:

Press Brake Operatives – forming and bending heavy steel plate

Plasma Bed Operatives – operating plasma cutting machinery in a steel processing environment

Dressing / Metal Fettling Operatives – grinding, fettling and finishing fabricated steel components

Shot Blast Operatives – surface preparation of steel prior to coating
Pay & Progression:
The business operates a clearly defined graded pay structure, enabling employees to increase earnings as skills, experience and responsibility develop.

Level 3 (Trainee): from £12.71 per hour

Up to Key Operator (Enhanced): £14.43 per hour
This structure is designed to support long‑term career development rather than short‑term placement.
Shift Uplifts:

Back Shift: 15% uplift on basic hourly rate

Night Shift: 25% uplift on basic hourly rate
Full flexibility around shift patterns is essential. Night shifts are required on an as‑and‑when‑needed basis to support business demands.
Working Hours (2‑Weekly Rotation):
Days

Monday – Thursday: 6:00am – 2:15pm

Friday: 6:00am – 12:45pm
Backs

Monday – Thursday: 2:15pm – 10:30pm

Friday: 12:45pm – 7:00pm
Nights

Overtime Rates:
Overtime is payable once standard contractual working hours have been completed.
Monday to Friday
