Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable 8 wheel Tipper Driver (Class 2) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving and ideally basic mechanical knowledge, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of aggregates. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism while on the road.
Duties
- Driving a lorry with a manual gear
- Local deliveries/collections only - no overnight stays.
- Operate lorry in compliance with all company policies and traffic regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with Transport Manager along with other Managers and team members regarding routes, schedules, and any issues encountered during transport.
- Perform basic mechanical checks and maintenance on the vehicle as needed (not essential).
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations while on duty.
- Can be self-employed or PAYE
Qualifications/Criteria
- Valid commercial driving licence (C - Class 2).
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Professional conduct at all times and remembering the importance of representing the company brand whilst on the road.
- Previous experience in a similar role is required - ideally at least 2 years.
- Mechanical knowledge to assist with basic vehicle maintenance would be a benefit but not essential
