Job Overview
Arm Transport is seeking professional, experienced, and reliable Class 2 Tramper Drivers to join our transport operation.
This position involves tramping around the UK, carrying out deliveries and collections while staying away from home as required. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring goods are transported safely, legally, and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of professionalism at all times.
We are looking for drivers with strong road knowledge, excellent timekeeping, and a responsible approach to vehicle safety, customer service, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle on UK-wide routes.
- Complete scheduled deliveries and collections efficiently and on time.
- Undertake tramping work, including nights out where required.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
- Ensure all loads are secure and transported in line with safety requirements.
- Complete all relevant paperwork, delivery notes, and proof of delivery documentation accurately.
- Follow all driver hours, tachograph, and road transport regulations.
- Communicate professionally with the transport office, customers, and site staff.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and professional vehicle.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ Class 2 HGV driving experience is essential.
- Valid Class 2 / Category C licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification card.
- Valid Digital Tachograph card.
- Previous tramping experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of UK roads and transport regulations.
- Strong understanding of driver hours and tachograph rules.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Comfortable working independently and staying away overnight.
- Professional attitude with good communication skills.
- Flexible approach to routes, working hours, and nights out.
