Senior Professional Technical Officer

Pay Rate: £20.66 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, 9:00-17:00
Hybrid – 3 days per week on site
This opening assignment is for 7 months

Summary of what the candidate must have to apply:
- Must have a valid driving licence and access to own car
- 3 days on site and 2 days remote (subject to change depending on service needs)
The role: To work at a senior technical/professional level within the Transport Services team, supervising and coordinating complex and high-profile projects while providing expert technical input.
Key accountabilities:
- Provide specialist technical expertise across transport and highway projects
- Lead and deliver projects, including citywide schemes
- Manage resources and ensure projects are delivered to time and target
- Work with partner organisations to improve or introduce services
- Support the development and implementation of transport strategies
- Identify and improve systems and working practices
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and relevant standards
- Work on live highway networks, including outdoor and occasional out-of-hours work
Requirements/key criteria:
- Experience managing highway maintenance schemes
- Knowledge of highway construction
- Experience of highway health and safety
- Knowledge of Chapter 8 and traffic management requirements
