Hours per week: 37, Monday – Friday, 09:00 - 17:00

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Risk and Insurance Manager to join a local authority client on a 6-month contract The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Council's strategic objectives through the development and continuous improvement of risk management processes, whilst overseeing insurance provision and claims management across the organisation.
Essential requirement - previous experience of Previous local government experience
Key Responsibilities to include:
- To provide effective management of the risk and insurance function
- To ensure claims are processed on a timely basis
- To ensure appropriate insurance arrangements are in place
- Provide advice and guidance on risk and insurance matters to senior managers and stakeholders.
- Monitor claims trends and identify opportunities to reduce risk exposure and improve performance.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including insurers, brokers, and legal representatives.
Essential Requirements to include:
- Significant experience in risk management and insurance within a local authority or public sector organisation
- Proven experience managing insurance claims and associated processes.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and the development of risk management frameworks.
- Experience leading teams and delivering high-quality services in a complex environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyse complex information and provide practical, risk-based solutions.
- Experience working with insurers, brokers, loss adjusters, and legal teams.
- Relevant professional qualification in risk management, insurance, governance, or a related discipline.
