Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook to join our team at a popular indoor play centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meals and snacks, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a lively environment where creating enjoyable dining experiences for families is our priority. The ideal applicant will have previous kitchen or restaurant experience, with a passion for culinary arts and excellent organisational skills.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a range of meals, snacks, and beverages suitable for children and adults alike
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing up and sanitising surfaces
- Assist with menu planning based on available ingredients and customer preferences
- Serve food efficiently to customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Monitor stock levels and notify management when supplies need replenishing
- Follow health & safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or working within a kitchen environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience working in a restaurant or catering setting is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Good communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers and colleagues
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak times
- Basic understanding of meal preparation techniques and serving practices
