Technical Manager
Job Description: Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 per year (Pro-rata for part-time)
Location: Buckfastleigh, Devon (100% In-Person)

Job Overview
Westcountry Spice is an expanding, pioneering organic manufacturer. We are looking for a Technical Manager who is as comfortable "doing" as they are "managing." This is a high-accountability role for someone who loves the precision of BRC standards and has the "grip" to maintain a flawless filing system.
Note: This is a site-based role in Devon. You must be able to attend an in-person interview and work on-site daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit Leadership: Take full ownership of BRC audits, Soil Association (Organic) accreditation, and customer audits. You aren't just part of the team; you are the lead.
- HACCP Team Leader: Maintain and evolve the HACCP plan (Level 3 minimum required).
- Technical Documentation: Manage the full lifecycle of product specifications, packaging information (legal labelling, allergens, nutrition), and the sample library.
- Problem Solving: Lead the investigation into customer complaints, non-conformance reports, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Supply Chain Compliance: Manage technical relationships with suppliers and handle all technical enquiries with confidence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Mandatory: Level 4 Food Safety for Manufacturing.
- Mandatory: Level 3 (or higher) HACCP Certification.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Food Technical Manager, specifically leading BRC implementations.
- IT Mastery: Highly competent in Excel and Word for complex document control.
- Character: A proactive "solution-finder" with a sense of humour and the ability to multi-task under pressure.
Pay: £30,525.50-£45,832.79 per year
