Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pot Wash to join our busy kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards by thoroughly washing pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment. This role is vital in supporting the smooth operation of our restaurant or hospitality establishment, ensuring that all items are ready for food preparation and service. Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The ideal candidate will be organised, efficient, and committed to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Duties
- Wash and sanitise pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using appropriate cleaning methods
- Ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned and dried before returning to storage or use
- Maintain cleanliness of the pot wash area in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as required
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods to ensure smooth workflow
- Follow hygiene standards diligently to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety compliance
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management promptly
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or hospitality environment is desirable
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures for kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Basic understanding of health and safety standards within a kitchen setting
- Friendly attitude with excellent teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and kitchen maintenance
