We are seeking an experienced, reliable and customer-focused Post Office Counter Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service while processing a range of postal, banking, and retail transactions. The role requires accuracy, honesty, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
● Serve customers at the counter in a friendly and professional manner.
● Process postal services including letters, parcels, recorded and special deliveries.
● Handle cash, card payments, bill payments, and other financial transactions accurately.
● Promote and sell Post Office products and services.
● Verify customer identification and documentation where required.
● Balance tills and complete end-of-day cash reconciliation.
● Respond to customer enquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
● Maintain accurate records and follow company procedures.
● Ensure the counter area is clean, organised, and secure.
● Comply with all security, data protection, and health and safety regulations.
Skills and Experience Required
● Previous experience in a Post Office or banking role is essential
● Excellent communication and customer service skills.
● Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
● Experience handling cash and financial transactions.
● Good computer and administrative skills.
● Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
