Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Hire Desk Assistant based in Keynsham. The Hire Desk Assistant will be responsible for managing customer inquiries, coordinating equipment rentals, and ensuring the seamless execution of hire operations.
The role requires effective communication with clients, scheduling equipment deliveries and collections, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring exceptional customer service standards are met. The successful candidate will also provide administrative support to the team and liaise with suppliers as needed.
In addition to office-based duties, the role will require a hands-on approach. The Hire Desk Assistant will be expected, at times, to assist in the yard, support engineers when required, and help with general operational tasks. This may involve getting hands dirty and working in an active yard environment. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times in these areas, including steel toe cap boots and high-visibility clothing.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency in administrative tasks, record-keeping, and use of office software
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive and resourceful mindset
- Experience in equipment hire, construction, or a related industry is a valuable asset
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks
