Overview
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Senior Supervisor / Duty Manager to join our team at The Fountain, Gornal.
This is a hands-on role in a busy community pub. You'll be leading shifts, supporting staff, helping to maintain high standards, and playing an important part in the day-to-day running of the business.
Previous supervisory experience in hospitality is preferred, but attitude, reliability, and a willingness to lead by example are just as important to us.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading shifts and supporting the team during service
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service
- Opening and closing the pub
- Helping to train and develop staff
- Cash handling and basic stock control
- Assisting with cellar cleaning and maintenance
- Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally
- Supporting management with the smooth running of the pub
The ideal candidate will be:
- Reliable and dependable
- Able to lead from the front and set/drive standards
- Calm under pressure during busy periods
- A good communicator with customers and staff alike
- Someone who takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs doing
- A team player who can balance being friendly with maintaining professional standards.
