Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- To lead on the production of main meals and help with puddings for hot and cook chill meal orders that meet the School Food standards.
- To comply with all kitchen policies and procedures, including (but not exhaustively) HACCP and COSHH.
- To ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen at all times.
- To work as part of the kitchen team but to also be self-reliant and able to work alone.
- To supervise, support and mentor/buddy members of the kitchen team on a day-to-day basis.
- To actively engage with LFL’s induction, probation and appraisal processes and to attend staff meetings and training courses as required.
- To ensure the Company's standards are adhered to and to be an ambassador for LFL.
- To develop a culture of continuous improvement and make the most efficient use of the resources available.
Duties include:
- Planning, preparing, cooking and presenting food to LFL’s standards for hot and cook chill meal orders.
- Ordering and managing stock levels.
- Checking and recording orders and temperatures of deliveries and food.
- Portioning, packing and loading meals in line with procedures.
- Clearing away and washing up.
- To occasionally cover a school's lunchtime service and/or assist with the delivery of a meal.
Anything else as reasonably requested by the Kitchen Manager or the Deputy Kitchen Manager
