With 150 years expertise Shortridge Laundry provides a specialist laundry and tailored delivery service to our customers within the tourism and hospitality business.
We are currently looking for an experienced, friendly hardworking Night Trunk Driver for trunking between our Darlington and Dumfries distribution centres. Monday to Friday 16.00pm to approx. 2.00am (additional night bonus £1.50 for hours between 23.00pm-5.00am). This is a full time position.
Responsibilities
· To comply with our driver’s hours, daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
· To drive within the requirements of the Law.
· Ensure that all paperwork has been completed.
· Must hold a class 2 driving licence.
· Loading and unloading of the vehicle.
· Customer delivery and collection.
Job Specific Skills
· Must be physically fit due to the nature of the roll as lifting is involved
· Sound Knowledge of Road Transport Regulations.
· Ensure the Company commitments of the ‘O’ Licence requirements regarding driver’s hours etc are adhered to.
· Possess digital tacho card.
· Possess DCPC (drivers qualification card).
· Decision making skills.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Enthusiastic and able to learn quickly.
· Flexible and able to priorities tasks.
· This position involves manual handing and can be physically demanding (training provided).
Experience
· Experience of working in a customer focus environment.
· Experience of working in a fast-moving environment.
· Capable of working both alone and as part of team.
