Job Summary; We are looking for a reliable Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team based in Barnsley. You will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various locations throughout the UK.
Key Requirements
- Must be aged 25 or over (insurance requirement)
- Full UK Class 1 (C+E) HGV licence with valid Driver CPC
- Clean driving record
- Comfortable with overnight tramping (approximately 3–4 nights away per week)
- Willingness to use mobile apps and technology for route planning and compliance
- Excellent focus and alertness for long-distance driving
Newly qualified (Class 1) drivers are welcome — full training will be provided.
Previous trunking HGV experience is advantageous but not essential — training is available.
Main Duties
- Safely transport goods and materials across the UK
- Follow routes to meet delivery schedules
- Carry out vehicle inspections for mechanical issues and safety concerns
- Comply with all traffic laws and regulations at all times
- Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of the lorry
- Check load are secure and ensure they remain safe throughout the journey
