SEND Teaching Assistant
About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join an alternative provision setting starting in September 2026 in the Leeds area to cover on a long-term basis.
This setting works with pupils who require an alternative to mainstream education, focusing on re-engagement, behaviour support and promoting positive outcomes through a therapeutic and structured approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEN and additional needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assist in delivering tailored interventions and engaging learning activities to support progress
- Implement behaviour management strategies and support pupils’ emotional regulation and engagement
Pre-requisites:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
- Proven experience supporting pupils with SEN, ideally within an alternative provision setting
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies, SEMH support, and inclusive practice
- Two education or school-based references
Pay: £90.00-£110.00 per day

Experience:
