About the Role
We are seeking a passionate, resilient and creative Teacher to join a City Hub team. You’ll work with pupils who have often felt let down by mainstream education — young people who need someone who can teach and truly connect.
You’ll deliver high?quality teaching across a broad curriculum. Knowledge of Maths at KS3/KS4 and Functional Skills is particularly beneficial, though additional subject strengths or personal interests are also welcomed to help enrich our flexible, engaging curriculum.
What Teaching Looks Like Here
- Small groups of 3–6 learners, allowing for meaningful relationships and personalised learning
- Some 1:1 teaching, especially during transition periods
- TA support for targeted interventions and group sessions
- Adaptive, relational teaching that prioritises engagement, wellbeing and progress
- A holistic curriculum blending academic, personal and life?skills learning
- Manageable planning and marking, with space for creativity and innovation
Key Responsibilities
- Set ambitious, personalised targets using robust baseline assessments
- Deliver engaging lessons that support academic, personal and wellbeing outcomes
- Use relational and restorative approaches to behaviour and engagement
- Create safe, inclusive and purposeful learning environments
- Work closely with specialist staff, families and external agencies
- Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development and whole?team approaches
- Model excellent safeguarding practice at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or equivalent
- Ability to teach a specialist subject and contribute to wider curriculum areas
- A reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional development
- A driver (due to the nature of the role)
- Experience in special or alternative provision is desirable but not essential
- Confidence using relational and restorative behaviour strategies
