Link3 Recruitment is seeking a confident and enthusiastic Primary Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Chesterfield (S42). This is an exciting full-time or part-time, long-term or flexible opportunity for an individual who is passionate about education and enjoys working with children across the primary age range.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absences and supporting pupils in achieving their learning objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 during the short-term absence of teaching staff
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities provided by teachers
- Ensure pupils remain engaged, focused, and on task throughout lessons
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Provide support and guidance to pupils where required
- Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Report back to teaching staff on pupil engagement, progress, and behaviour
- Support the wider school community and assist with additional duties as required
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children within a school, educational, childcare, or youth work setting
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Confidence leading and supervising groups of pupils independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, organised, and professional approach
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or youth work are desirable but not essential

- DBS: Candidates must hold an Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one prior to commencement (cost covered by the applicant)
