Richmond Care is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead our established mental health nursing home in Manchester.

About the Role
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the home and for ensuring the service remains safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
You will hold CQC registration for the service and will be accountable for ensuring compliance with all regulatory, contractual, safeguarding and quality requirements.
You will work closely with the Directors, Operations Manager, Deputy Manager, nursing team and wider staff team to maintain high standards across the home.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the nursing, care, domestic, maintenance, administration and support teams.
- Ensure the home operates in line with CQC regulations, Health and Social Care Act requirements, safeguarding duties and company policies.
- Maintain a culture of person-centred care, dignity, respect and positive risk management.
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments, reviews and resident outcomes.
- Ensure safe staffing levels are maintained in line with resident dependency and service needs.
- Lead on quality assurance, audits, action plans and continuous improvement.
- Promote effective communication with residents, relatives, commissioners, social workers, health professionals and external agencies.
- Manage safeguarding concerns, complaints, incidents and accidents appropriately.
- Support recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal, training and performance management of staff.
- Ensure medication management, infection control, health and safety, fire safety and data protection standards are maintained.
- Support the financial and operational performance of the home, including occupancy, referrals and fee reviews where required.
- Prepare for and lead the service through CQC inspections and local authority/ICB monitoring visits.
- Promote a positive, professional and accountable culture across the service.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- An experienced care home, nursing home or regulated service manager with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Able to demonstrate proven management experience within adult social care, preferably within a mental health, nursing or complex care setting.
- Confident in working with adults who have enduring mental health needs and associated complex presentations.
- Knowledgeable and confident in relation to CQC regulations, inspections, quality assurance and care home governance.
- A strong leader who can support, challenge and develop staff effectively.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
- Able to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, commissioners and external professionals.
- Committed to delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
- Confident in dealing with safeguarding, complaints, incidents, inspections and regulatory requirements.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar management role within a care home, nursing home or regulated adult social care setting.
- Proven experience of managing staff teams and leading service performance.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and quality standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Good IT and documentation skills.
- Ability to work flexibly according to the needs of the service.
- NVQ/QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or a clear willingness and commitment to work towards this qualification while in post.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and full employment checks.
Desirable Requirements
The following would be advantageous:
- Registered Nurse qualification, ideally RMN, RGN or dual qualified.
- Experience in mental health, dementia or complex care.
- Experience with electronic care planning and medication systems.
