Job Summary
Denholm Logistics Group comprises a number of specialist operating companies operating within the logistics and maritime sectors. We are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join the divisional finance team based in Liverpool city centre.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the remote management of all aspects of the finance function for Hamilton Shipping Port Services Ltd, a leading port agency business headquartered in Belfast, with hub offices in Cork and Dublin.
This role offers the opportunity to work for a well-established organisation, with the Management Accountant working closely with senior management and operational teams to support the achievement of business objectives.
Occasional travel to Belfast and the Republic of Ireland will be required as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Full production of the monthly management accounts of the business
- Preparation of the annual budget and two mid-year forecasts
- Managing the accounts payable function; ledger reviews and payment approval
- Managing the accounts receivable function; aged debt and credit monitoring
- Overseeing the administration department of the business, ensuring prompt client billing and prompt supplier invoice processing
- Managing internal and external compliance requirements
- Being the first point of contact for internal and external auditors
- Dealing with revenue services; VAT returns and tax payments
- Foreign currency hedging and treasury management
Candidate requirements
- Proven experience in a similar Management Accountant role is essential
- Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes and overall financial processes
- Working towards CIMA, ACCA or an equivalent qualification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong reconciliation skills with a high attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Experience working in a multi-currency business would be advantageous
