We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure the delivery of high-quality food, and maintain exceptional standards of food safety and hygiene. Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, fostering a positive and productive working environment
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation meet company standards
- Manage food production schedules to meet customer demand efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
- Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating innovative dishes and seasonal ingredients
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control costs to optimise kitchen operations
- Train staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and service standards
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and excellent customer experience
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area in accordance with health regulations
- Assist in serving customers when necessary, providing excellent hospitality
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
- Strong team management skills with demonstrated leadership abilities
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills to effectively lead staff and liaise with management
- Creative flair for menu development and culinary innovation
- Previous experience in a managerial role within a busy kitchen setting is preferred
