Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker to provide compassionate care and support to children in a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing environment, assisting with daily activities, and implementing care plans tailored to each child's needs. Responsibilities
- Offer emotional and behavioural support to children, fostering their development and well-being.
- Assist children with daily routines, including personal care, meal times, and recreational activities.
- Implement individualised care plans under supervision, ensuring each child's specific needs are met.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by adhering to health and safety policies.
- Support children during outings and activities outside the residential setting, including driving when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure cohesive care.
- Document observations and progress notes accurately in line with organisational procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to childcare.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children, preferably within a residential or childcare setting.
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive children safely to appointments or activities.
- Knowledge of childcare practices and child development principles.
- Ability to develop and follow personalised care plans tailored to individual children’s needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build trusting relationships.
- Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- Compassionate nature with strong organisational skills and patience.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting children's growth in a caring environment while developing their professional skills within the childcare sector.
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
