Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the kitchen team, including supervising chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Oversee food production, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and taste.
- Develop and update menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and health & safety policies across all kitchen activities.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise efficiency and minimise waste.
- Train staff on food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and serving procedures to maintain consistency and excellence.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor kitchen performance, provide constructive feedback, and foster a positive team environment focused on continuous improvement.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu development.
- Demonstrable leadership abilities with experience managing a diverse team of kitchen staff.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations essential for maintaining high hygiene levels.
- Previous experience working in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
