EM Oils provides food service businesses across the region with a transparent, professional cooking oil service. We supply fresh cooking oils and collect used cooking oil, which is then recycled into biodiesel.
We're looking for a reliable Collection Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our team. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role — you'll be out on the road serving our customers and back at the unit handling oil, vehicles and equipment. If you take pride in doing a job properly and don't mind getting mucky, you'll fit right in.
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday. 30 hours per week, rising to 40 if it suits.
What the job involves (please note this is a physical role):
- Repeated manual handling — lifting and moving containers and drums of oil, including operating the van tail-lift
- Delivering fresh cooking oil and collecting used oil from catering establishments (multi-drop)
- Driving a 3.5t van throughout the day in all weather
- Loading and unloading vehicles; receiving new oil deliveries
- Processing used oil and general cleaning of the unit and vehicles
- Building strong relationships with customers and dealing with any issues professionally
- Keeping accurate records using a phone or handheld device
Who we're looking for
Essential:
- Full, clean UK driving licence (able to drive a 3.5t van)
- Physically fit and comfortable with repeated lifting and a hands-on role
- Reliable, punctual and well-presented
- Good verbal communication and a friendly, professional, customer-facing manner
- Happy to get mucky as part of the day-to-day work
- A team player who can also work on their own initiative
Desirable:
- Experience as a delivery or multi-drop driver
- Experience in the waste or oil industry
- Forklift (FLT) licence
- Class 2 (Category C) licence
