An exciting opportunity is now available at Cardiff and Vale College for a Progress Coach – Sport, Tourism & Public Services. The Progress Coach is responsible for supporting learners in a pastoral role, including target setting, motivation, and attitude to learning, while supporting the overall learner journey within the Sport, Tourism and Public Services provision.
In this role, you will support learners to achieve their goals and progress into further study or employment, while addressing key issues such as attendance, punctuality, motivation, and attitude to learning. You will provide one-to-one support, set targets, and implement interventions to improve performance, as well as monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records, liaising with parents or guardians where required.
You will work closely with curriculum teams to identify and support ‘at risk’ learners, helping to ensure successful outcomes and progression. The role also involves delivering engaging personal development sessions, promoting participation in the Personal Tutorial programme, supporting Learner Voice activity, and addressing behaviour concerns in line with college policies.
We are looking for a Progress Coach who can demonstrate enthusiasm and a passion for supporting learners within a Sport, Tourism and Public Services setting. In your supporting statement, you should outline how you can help learners succeed and progress to their next stage in education or employment.
You will embrace our CAVC values and be Inspirational, Inclusive, and Influential in your work with learners, colleagues, and partners.
Whilst the ability to speak Welsh is not essential for the role, we would welcome applications from candidates who are fluent and able to engage with learners through the medium of Welsh.
Applications must be made using the Cardiff and Vale College application form only; CVs will not be accepted.
Please note, the successful candidate will be expected to commence in late August in preparation for the new academic year.
