Role
- Lead technical design and engineering of renewable energy projects (solar PV, onshore wind, BESS)
- Conduct feasibility studies, energy yield assessments, and grid connection analysis
- Prepare technical specifications, equipment selection, and system design Manage relationships with DNOs, National Grid, and regulatory bodies
- Oversee installation contractors and ensure compliance with IEC, BS, and G99 standards
- Conduct site assessments, shadow analysis, and environmental impact reviews
- Stay current with UK energy policy, subsidies (CfD, ROCs), and market developments
- Support planning applications with technical documentation
Requirements
- 7+ years' experience in renewable energy project engineering
- BEng/MEng in Electrical/Mechanical/Renewable Energy Engineering
- Strong knowledge of solar PV, wind, or BESS system design
- Experience with PVsyst, HOMER, WindPRO, or equivalent modelling tools
- Chartered Engineer status (IET/IMechE) preferred
- Understanding of UK grid connection processes and DNO requirements
