Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman / Maintenance Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of facilities and equipment, ensuring the smooth operation across five of our sites.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs across the premises, including kitchen, customer areas, and storage spaces.
- Repair and service electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
- Fix issues with equipment, appliances, fixtures, fittings, and basic joinery
- Address plumbing, painting, and patch‑up work where required, ensuring all areas remain clean and presentable.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs undertaken
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or management
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests to minimise disruption to service
- Ensure the premises remain safe, hygienic, and compliant with food safety and health & safety standards.
- Liaise with management regarding any larger repair needs or external contractor requirements.
Skills
- Experience in maintenance or handyman roles
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Customer service orientation with a professional attitude towards colleagues and clients
- Full UK driving license and own vehicle for travel between sites
- Own tools suitable for general maintenance tasks
This role is ideal for motivated, hands‑on individuals. Flexible hours, with petrol paid.
Pay: £14.00 per hour
